The Alien Blaster uses a different technology and is better than anything. Instead exit back to the main screen, use some drugs, then go back to the character screen and choose your Perk. When you level and you get the 'Choose Perk screen,' don't. You can always play the game again later and make different choices. This makes it easier to undo something you screwed up. The more they have, the more often they'll use them, and the longer they'll live. There's a bug that makes everything more expensive if you use the button.
